The Swilt

The Swilt on Shark Tank Update

Sweater + Quilt = The Swilt
sweater plus a quilt equal a Swilt
Ivori Tennelle Inventor of The Swilt Sweater
What do you get when you combine a sweater and a quilt? Why you get The Swilt invented by Ivori Tennelle. You wear The Swilt just like a sweatshirt which converts into a head-to-toe blanket in seconds. In addition, Ivori has included foot pockets with water resistant nylon material making this sweater plus a quilt quite an interesting invention.

Ivori Tennelle came into the Shark Tank asking $30,000.00 in exchange for a 35% equity stake in The Swilt Business. At that time she's only sold 100 units in the local marketplace but wants to expand the Business online and needs the Sharks help optimizing the Website.

Personally I like this idea and can see a big demand from Mom's sitting on the sideline's during a cold sports event. But I also see a bigger market than keeping The Swilt defined in such a narrow niche. For instance if one was made with a water proof/ wind proof outer lining that was made more like a jacket than a sweater. Outdoor enthusiasts would love this idea as an excellent addition to their Survival Pack when weight and bulk is always an issue. If you have ever spent an unexpected night or two in the woods, (I have) then it's easy to see a product such as The Swilt would be a great item to always have just in case. Read More Here-->>>

Cougar Energy Drink

Cougar Energy on Shark Tank

Energy Drink Seen in Season 3 Update

Seen on the Shark Tank  These days we seem to have energy drinks being formulated for all kinds of reasons. Some are made to give you a 5 Hour boost of energy, while others are made to keep you alert like the Ruck Pack Energy Drink also seen on the Shark Tank Show. Then we have energy drinks that are very niche oriented like the Cougar Energy Drink that specifically target's older Women AKA Cougars.

Ryan Custer is the owner and creature of the Cougar Energy Drink specifically formulated for women with a big appetite. He came into the Shark Tank looking for a $150,000.00 investment in exchange for 30% of the energy drink business. At that time Custer already sold over $60,000.00 worth of product within the past three years.

While having a niche oriented business can be a very good thing, in some cases it may be too niche orientated when it comes to getting major exposure. This may be the case with Cougar Energy Drink going after a very specific target market that is also gender specific. All the Sharks seemed to agree and no offers were made for the Cougar Energy Drink. Not even our Cougar Shark Barbara Corcoran could be convinced to invest in this very niche, and very active Lady's product when needing a boost of energy.

Treasure Chest Pets Success/ Failure Story

Treasure Chest Pets Update

Season 1 of the shark tank
Lisa Lloyd looking very determined to get
A Deal on the Shark Tank Season 1 Show
While searching the Shark Tank Season 1 List looking for another incredible Success Story, I found something much different. A successful deal with the Sharks that ends in Failure. How could you give up a majority stake in your business to two Sharks and then watch your invention get taken over by the competition? There is quite a lot to the Treasure Chest Pet's Story and Lisa Lloyd's rise to the Top of becoming one of Shark Tank's most successful entrepreneur's, despite her product ending in failure.

Lisa Lloyd had no intentions of going on this new Show called The Shark Tank. In fact She never even heard of this new Reality Show for Entrepreneur's that was already casting for the very first season for almost a year. As fate would have it, Lisa was one of the very last people to get her product to the producer's on the very last day. Clearly Lisa was no amateur taking an idea to the market having already sold over million's with other inventions, which most likely helped Her stand out in the producers eyes.Read More Here-->>>

Chord Buddy Shark Tank Update

Chord Buddy on the Shark Tank Show

Learn How To Play A Guitar - Season 3 - Episode 301 - Update
Chord Buddy season 3, episode 3
The New Chord Buddy Combo
Includes EVERYTHING!
The Chord Buddy has to be the most perfect way to learn how to play a guitar. My Son instantly said when he saw it on the Shark Tank that it kind of reminds him of of the Guitar Hero and the Rock Bands Video's where he first started learning to play. But with the Chord Buddy you can play a real guitar instead of the fake looking video guitar that basically mimics the same training process. It's a clever device that attaches to the neck of your guitar with easy to read colored tabs that will have you playing like a pro in no time.

Travis Perry developed the Chord Buddy to teach his Daughter how to play the guitar which she did within just a few months time. It was so easy to learn this way that Perry knew he had a new hit product that could teach thousands how to play. In a single months time, Travis had a $150,000.00 in sales within a months time which confirmed he was on to something BIG and he just had to convince at least one Shark to invest in the Cord Buddy and go along for the ride.

When Travis entered the Shark Tank he was more confident then ever of the future success of the Chord Buddy and ready to negotiate with the Sharks. His biggest stipulation was that the Cord Buddy will continue to be manufactured in the U.S.A.

Invis-A-Rack

Invis-A-Rack on Shark Tank Show

Invisible Truck Rack Season 3 episode 307 - Update Season 4 - Episode 418
Invis-a-rack season 3, episode 7
Donny McCall on the Shark Tank Show
with the Invis A Rack
Donny McCall is the inventor of the Invis A Rack from Season 3 that made a very big impact on the Shark Tank for his stance to keep this product "Made In America". Incredibly it was this decision that probably cost him a deal with the Sharks as he did not get the investment he needed for his invention. McCall was looking for $100k in exchange for 10% of the invisarack business. At that time, Donny has sold 150 units and grossed $50k in sales.

Donny was very adamant about keeping the manufacturing and production in the U.S. and specifically in and around Sparta, North Carolina where he calls home. He's a one man business that hopes to bring job's to the community and bring new hope in the depressed market. Getting the Invis-A-Rack manufactured oversees is Not an option
that he will even consider. This product was invented in the U.S. and it will be built here (period).

Made in the USA
The Invis-A-Rack Gets
U.S. Manufacture Deal!
Made In The U.S.A.
Robert Herjevic asks if the large distributors have been interested in carrying this product and whats the price points. Donny says he has not been able to make a deal with them because they currently want to many points. He can make the Invisarack for $250.00 and they want to buy them in the low $300.00 range. Herjevic wants to know what kind of volume would it take to get it down to $150.00 per unit. McCall is not sure he could get it that low here in the U.S.

Element Bars

Element Bars on Shark Tank - Update

Custom Energy Bars - Season 1 - Episode 6

Custom Energy Bars on Shark Tank
Jonathon Miller on Shark Tank Show
The Element Bars are custom energy bar's that you design yourself online and have them sent your door. If your not into experimenting, the element bars also offer several pre-made energy bars that have already proven to be very successful in the market.

If I could choose one former Shark Tank contestant to take with me and help with negotiations, Jonathon Miller would be high up on that list. In fact, during the show, Barbara Corcoran calls Jonathon a mini Shark for his negotiation skills. He went in asking $150k for 15% stake in his custom energy bar business valuating it at a whopping $2.25 million. The business was averaging 1000 custom energy bars per week at that time. The custom bars retail for $2.99 so approx. $12k/Month in sales. Obviously this valuation could be considered way out of line on the surface BUT Read More Here-->>>

KissTixx

KissTixx on Shark Tank

Lip Balm made for kissing - Season 3 - Episode 311 - Update

Deal with Mark Cuban Season 3, episode 311
KissTixx makes it's National Debut on
The Shark Tank Show
Dallas Robinson and Mike Bounomo, the inventors of Kiss Tixx, the kissing lip balm with a chemical and very tasty reaction, has made huge progress since they were featured on the Shark Tank Show. What started out as an idea in high school and developed while in college at Utah Valley University, went on to get a $50k SBA Loan to develop the KissTixx Invention. Soon after they had the KissTixx product in front of 5 million viewer's and 5 potential investors with a net worth in the billions.

If you want to be Successful on the Shark Tank Show, whether you make a deal with the Sharks or not, it's best to leave a lasting impression that will always be remembered. That's exactly what Robinson and Bounomo did. To demonstrate how the KissTixx works and needing two willing kissing partner's to actually kiss to make the chemical reaction take place, they actually got Kevin O'Leary and Barbara Corcoran to kiss. Yes, that's a lasting impression that I won't soon forget. I also won't forget how Kevin put his arm around Barbara, If I didn't know any better, it looks like he kind of liked it. Barbara, not so much.

Heat Helper

The Heat Helper on Shark Tank

Dryer Heater - Season 3 - Episode 11 - Update

Heat Helper on Shark Tank Season 3, episode, 311
Lyle Schuette Inventor of
The Heat Helper
Now the Dryer Heater invention, you have to admit, is one cool invention that could help keep you warm. As Lyle Schuette demonstrated on the Shark Tank Show, when you use your dryer you are essentially pulling in heated air that you have already paid for and sending it right outside your dryer hose. This sound's like a big problem and it may be costing you more money then you might think.

Lyle Schuette came into the Shark Tank about as pumped up as any contestant I have ever seen. His enthusiasm quickly won over the Sharks but was it enough for them to open up their check books? Demonstrating how the Heat Helper takes the warm air generated by your dryer and returns it back into your home instead of losing it through the vent, made perfect sense to me. Not only are you saving money on your heating bill by replacing the air that gets sucked up in the dryer, your dryer actually becomes a source of heat thereby reducing when your heater will kick on.  The Heat Helper also has a handy valve to release the heat during the summer months and capture it during the winter.

Custom Jewelry - Season 3 - Episode 3 Update

Mackenzie Burdick and Rachael Mann
Lady Gaga Wearing The  Litter Jewelry Brand
Now That Will Get Some Attention, Every time!
What makes Litter Jewelry such a unique business to be featured on the Shark Tank Show is the fact that each and every piece of jewelry is one of-a-kind. The two sister's, Mackenzie Burdick and Rachael Mann, were the sole designer's for the entire collection of the Litter Jewelry Line. They have quite a successful story to tell that all started from a picture posted on a blog that just so happened to have one of their hair pieces made from an old necklace. The two sister's received an invitation to participate in a Jewelry Show featuring their unique designs. The Show was such a huge success that they decided to start their own line "Litter Jewelry" and start getting serious about combining their passion into a business.

The two sister's came up with a brand new style within the jewelry fashion consisting of head bands, leg jewelry and even jewelry worn around your ankle. From a guy's perspective, I must say, it really makes your eyes focus on

Shark Tank Episode 412

Shark Tank Episode 412

January 4th, 2013

Happy New Year Shark Tank Fans! With only one new episode in all of December it's finally time for some New Shark Tank Contestant's to feature their inventions. As you might expect, ABC is not disappointing on the first line up of new products. Will T-Mobile continue with their "scripted" built in commercials the second half of the season? Or is the gig up on that one. You have to admit, they sure have received more attention on those little plugs then any regular commercial ever could. I still think if they want to make a big impact on the Shark Tank Show, they need the T-Mobile Girl on as a special guest. Now that would really light up the twitter feed.

Wild Squirrel Nut Butter

Wild Squirrel Nut Butter on Shark Tank

Custom Peanut Butter - Season 4 - Episode 315
Seen on the Shark Tank Show
Wild Squirrel Nut Butteris a classic business story
that began in the dorm rooms at college. While Erika Welsh and Keeley Tillotson were weathering a storm in their room at the University of Oregon one day, they ran out of peanut butter. While this may be a problem for a lot of struggling college students, this only meant an opportunity for the self proclaimed "cooking fanatics" to do a little creating of their own. Welsh and Tillotson had a bag of peanuts and ran then through a food processor to a creamy blend. They then went looking for other ingredients already on hand and started doing a little creative experimenting with their home made peanut butter. A little honey here, a dash of cinnamon there, before you know it, they had the ingredients of success in their new creation.

Blondie's Cookies

Blondie's Cookies on Shark Tank Show

Brenda "Blondie" Coffman - Season 3 - Episode 308 - 4/13/12
Re-Run Season 4 - 12/20/12
Blondie's Cookies on the Shark Tank Update
Now even the Sharks can't be so mean and tell their "on air" Grandma that they are not interested in a deal. Right? We'll when Brenda Coffman made her way into the Shark Tank she came prepared with some of the cookies that have made her famous. Her Grandmotherly charm came across as genuine as her cookies started to melt the sharks hearts, just a bit anyway. Coffman was asking $200k for a 3% stake which puts a valuation over $6.7 million on the cookie company.
She already has 12 stores in Indiana and Florida and did $2.3 million in total sales just last year alone. The problem is the expansion in Florida which is currently losing money. She has $800k in outstanding bank loans and desperately needs the Sharks help to bring Blondie's Cookies

Wine in a glass invention
So how do you go on the Shark Tank Show and blow a deal, twice, and still come out very successful? Just ask James Martin the inventor of Copa Di Vino. Martin first appeared in season 2 when Kevin O'Leary was interested in taking the wine by the glass patent and making a royalty off large wine makers. James stuck with his dream of making Copa Di Vino a standalone product using quality wine and confidently walked away with no deal.

Copa DaVino is wine a glass. The wine comes in 7 varieties which consists of Chardonnay, Merlot, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, White Zinfandel, Cabernet and Moscato.
