The AVE Venice

The AVE Venice on Shark Tank

Custom Screen Printing - Season 3 Episode 306 Update
custom screen printing season 3
The Ave Venice Now Custom Prints On
Van's Slip On's

After watching a few of The Ave Venice video''s on You Tube, I must say I'm impressed with what's now possible to custom screen print on. Nick Romero the owner of  The Ave based out of Venice, California, has taken this industry to a whole new level which you can now custom create just about anything. If you ever want a one-of-a-kind custom pair of tennis shoes for instances, Romero is definitely the man to talk to. Anything you can imagine can be turned into a wearable form of art at his screen printing business.

Nick came into the Shark Tank seeking $125,000.00 for a 15% equity stake in his custom printing business. Because everything is custom made for the customer, this helps keep costs down until the order is placed on a variety of t-shirts, tennis shoes and hats ready to be made into "your" work of art. At the time Romero was in front of the Sharks, he had already done $570k his first year in business generating $150k in profit.

As good of an idea as this is, the Sharks weren't biting as they all decided not to make any offers in The Ave Venice business. Mark Cuban does acknowledge Nick has a unique printing process, but apparently not enough to secure a patent on or be copied from competitors.

Zomm Update

Zomm on Shark Tank

Wireless Leash for iPhone - Season 4 Update
Seen on the Shark Tank Season 4
The Zomm Wireless Phone Leash
Featured on Shark Tank
The Zomm wireless leash for your iPhone hooks to your key chain and sounds off an alarm if you ever walk off and forget it. But that's only part of what this clever Blue tooth devise is capable of doing. The Zomm can also be used as a hands free speaker phone while you're driving or can also be set up to dial any number in case of an emergency.

The inventors of the Zomm, Henry and Laurie Penix from Tulsa, Oklahoma, came up with the name using the first letter of their kid's name. Starting with Zack, Olivia and Madison, with the additional M standing for Mom, completes the Zomm Brand name.

Henry Penix walked into the Shark Tank looking for a $2 million dollar investment in exchange for 10% equity stake in the Zomm Business. Starting negotiations with the Sharks putting a $20 million valuation on the company you best have some sales too back it up, and they did. In 2011 sales were $5 million, with 2012 sales on track to sell $7.2 million with $2 million in net profit. Read More Here-->>>

Lifter Hamper Update

Lift Hamper on Shark Tank

Spring Loaded Clothes Hamper -  Season 4 Update
Marvin Phillip's Lifter Hamper season 4
The Lifter Hamper
Finished Product
I'm not sure how I missed this one, but the Lifter Hamper has to be the coolest clothes hamper on the market that thousands of people with back problems are going to love. The inventor of The Lifter Hamper is Marvin Phillip, a NFL Star who was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steeler's back in 2006. In 2008 Phillip had a back injury that sidelined Him for the rest of the Season when it was difficult just to bend over.

Marvin may not of been able to play Professional Football but that didn't stop Him from helping out around the House including doing the laundry. Having to bend over to complete this task, Phillip reasoned there had to be a better way. What if the hamper was spring loaded going down when you put clothes in the hamper, then rises back up when you take them out? A light bulb went off and Marvin's entrepreneurial spirit took over designing the Lifter Hamper that would make bending over a thing of the past.

Marvin Phillip entered the Shark Tank seeking $85,000,00 in exchange for a 12% equity stake in the Lifter Hamper Business. He was already in the hamper business for 6 months with contracts from two rep firms, but no real sales yet to speak of. With such a cool invention for anyone with back problems, it would seem like a great product for Lori Greiner's QVC Show. But a product that has not proven itself in the market yet, and an extremely high valuation at this point in the game, left Lori very little choice but to go out. In fact all the Sharks go out as it appears Phillip had made the most common mistake for contestants not getting a deal on the shark Tank by over valuing their business.

If you have a great idea for a book, the Business Ghost services will organize your ideas, design your cover, publish your book and even help market the finished product.

At the time of the Business Ghost appearance on the Shark Tank, Michael has 8 other ghost writer's working on a number of book deals. The cost for having your book ghost written with a final product can run as high as $75,000.00 per project. The Business Ghost Business is on track to gross $700k this year alone.

Levin came into the Shark Tank seeking $200,000.00 for a 10% equity stake in His Ghost Writing Services. Kevin O'Leary is very impressed with Michael's writing services and compliment's him for making a profit that most writers never achieve, but is skeptical if this could be turned into a very profitable long term business. Barbara Corcoran seems to think Michael is getting tired of the Business Ghost Business and is looking for someone else to run the company. Mark Cuban questions the entire book publishing business as more print goes digital. Daymond John thinks if He invests in the business, getting His investment back will end up more like a mystery book. In the end Business Ghost was unable to get any offers from the Sharks and no deal was made.

My Wonderful Life

My Wonderful Life Shark Tank Update

on Season 3 of the Shark Tank Show
If you knew you were going to die tomorrow, what kind of funeral would you like to have? Everyone Say's good bye to you, but wouldn't you also like to speak at your own funeral and tell them good bye? Maybe a few personal letters to your loved ones that are meant for their eyes only would sure be nice wouldn't it? But if you died tomorrow, are you prepared today with your wishes on how you would like your funeral services to go?

Nancy Bush and Sue Kruskopf are the owners of My Wonderful Life that lets you have a big say in your own funeral. As a matter a fact you can pre-plan your entire funeral, write your own obituary and pre-pay for the whole thing while you're still on this earth.

Going into the Shark Tank Nancy and Sue was asking for a $100k investment in the pre-planned funeral business in exchange for 10% of the business. With such a name closely resembling Kevin O'Leary "Mr. Wonderful" Himself, the two Ladies decide to use him as an example. You can sign-up on their website for Free and start putting together you book with detailed plans for your own funeral. The Nitro Force

Nitro Force on Shark Tank Update

Portable Home Gym Update from Season 3
Seen on the Shark Tank Season 3
The Titan 1000 Home Gym
W/ 100 Exercises and
1000 Lbs. of weight
The NitroForce Company sells the popular Titan 1000 developed by Fitness Experts Frank Campitelli & Debrae Barensfeld. With a combined 30 years in the fitness industry they built the lightest and most powerful home gym on the market. With just a single Titan 1000 you have over 100 exercises to choose from using up to 1000 pounds of total resistance.

Frank and Debrae came into the Shark Tank looking for a $250k investment in exchange for 10% equity stake in the NitroForce.com Business. At the time of the airing in Season 3, they have only sold 12 home gyms for $1300 and a grand total of $15,600 in sales. In part how Campitelli and Barensfield justify the $2.5 million valuation is the fact they have 90 more home gyms in a warehouse and ready to be sold.

This just might be the greatest home exercise gym in the world, but putting such a high valuation on Nitro Force when its entire sales is what Mark Cuban spends on a night on the town, didn't seem to get any of the Sharks to take a bite at the business. Some folks choose to use the Shark Tank Show just as much as the Shark Tank uses them. I'm not saying this is the case here, but if you wanted to get on the Show and had no interest in making a deal, these numbers would probably do it every single time.

Mix Bikini

Mix Bikini Shark Tank Update

Mix and Match Bikini - Season 3 - Episode 315
Mix Bikini Shark Tank Update Season 3 Episode 315
Frank Scozzafava Inventor of Mix Bikini
Tough Job but someone has to do it!
The Mix Bikini Brand allows you to mix and match bikini parts into over 5000 combinations. The more interchangeable parts you acquire, the more options you have to create a brand new look every time you head to the beach. I must say they do look good on the models and seem to fit in all the right places.

Frank Scozzafava and Adam DiSilvestro came into the Shark Tank looking for a $50,000.00 investment in their creative bikini line, but for only 5% equity stake in the business. Each interchangeable part of the swimsuit is sold separately which you will need at least 4 to complete a brand new look. To create your own unique bikini costs between $40-$60 retail.

With starting off negotiations with a 5% stake in the business or $1 million valuation, was soon changed to 10% and quickly cut it in half down to $500k. The male Sharks seemed a little concerned how there was no real business plan in place and no sales to put a value so high on a brand new start up.Read More Here-->>>

Cab 20 Band

Cab 20 Band on Shark Tank

Investing in a New Rock Band
First Band Featured on Shark Tank Show
Cab20 is the First and Only Band to
Preform on the Shark Tank Show
The Cab20 Band was featured on the Shark Tank in season 3 opened up a whole new avenue for Bands to raise money. If your sound is unique and if you have the right manager, then you might also get a chance to play in front of 7 million viewer's.

Of course having Tom Callaham an already accomplished Band Promoter does come with benefits. The idea of raising money for new talent via Venture Capital and Angel Investors is nothing new. But the idea of getting an up and coming new band in front of millions of viewers for the first time when seeking an investment was. Whether Callaham was successful in getting a deal with any of the Sharks or not, was really besides the point.

With all the talented bands out there, how could the producer's ever decide on which Band will be the very first ever to appear on the Shark Tank? In Tom's case He was good friends with someone who was also good friends with the executive producer for the Shark Tank Show. Callaham sent in a Video of Cab 20 directly to Clay Newbill the executive of the Shark Tank Show, and soon after they met for a cup of coffee. Read More Here-->>>

Tail Lightz Update

Tail Lightz on Shark Tank

Light-Up Magnetic Stickers - Season 3 Episode 301

Kyle Rainey season 3, episode 301
The Finished Tail Lightz Product
After the Shark Tank Show
Kyle Rainey is the inventor of the Tail Lightz magnetic stickers made to light your assets up. If you’re seeking a little added attention in that department, then this product is guaranteed to get you noticed. That was at least my impression when Rainey first came into the Shark Tank with two female models and proceeded to show all their assets off.

The Tail Lights Magnetic Stickerswas an inspiration of Kyle's when his young Daughter wanted a pair of light up sneakers that flashes LED lights as you move around. It's a cool invention that I myself bought a pair for one of my kids which always seemed to get a lot of attention. He came into the Shark Tank looking for a $50,000.00 investment in exchange for 50% of the Tail Lightz Business which was a brand new concept at the time.

The lights on set dimmer and the music comes on to create a night life atmosphere as Kyle and his two models start dancing it up and showing off their tail light assets. The first thing you notice (at least I did) was how generic a lot of the Tail Light designs were. A few of the designs almost looked like clip art I have seen before. In fact I would bet on it, but there's a good reason why.

In hind sight we now know that Kyle Rainey is an avid inventor with over 80 inventions he is constantly working on.

Chord Buddy Shark Tank Update

Chord Buddy on the Shark Tank Show

Learn How To Play A Guitar - Season 3 - Episode 301 - Update
Chord Buddy season 3, episode 3
The New Chord Buddy Combo
Includes EVERYTHING!
The Chord Buddy has to be the most perfect way to learn how to play a guitar. My Son instantly said when he saw it on the Shark Tank that it kind of reminds him of of the Guitar Hero and the Rock Bands Video's where he first started learning to play. But with the Chord Buddy you can play a real guitar instead of the fake looking video guitar that basically mimics the same training process. It's a clever device that attaches to the neck of your guitar with easy to read colored tabs that will have you playing like a pro in no time.

Travis Perry developed the Chord Buddy to teach his Daughter how to play the guitar which she did within just a few months time. It was so easy to learn this way that Perry knew he had a new hit product that could teach thousands how to play. In a single months time, Travis had a $150,000.00 in sales within a months time which confirmed he was on to something BIG and he just had to convince at least one Shark to invest in the Cord Buddy and go along for the ride.

When Travis entered the Shark Tank he was more confident then ever of the future success of the Chord Buddy and ready to negotiate with the Sharks. His biggest stipulation was that the Cord Buddy will continue to be manufactured in the U.S.A.

Dan and Liz Holtz are the owners of the Liz Lovely Cookies seen on the Shark Tank earlier in season 4 when they were seeking a $200,000,00 investment for a 10% stake in the gourmet cookie business. All the cookies are gluten free and vegan made only with the freshest ingredients. They use none of the traditional ingredients such as eggs, milk, butter and wheat flour.

After an entertaining presentation Kevin O'Leary asks "what are they made out of, sand"? Dan rightly so seems to take offense to his comment and replies "they are made out of a blend of rice flour and some starches but don't let that fool you". All the Sharks seem to really like this rather interesting way of making cookies

Wired Waffles

Wired Waffle's on Shark Tank

Caffeine Waffles - Season 4 - Episode 405 - Update
Shark Tank Season 4, Episode 405
Roger Sullivan Wired on Waffles
Roger Sullivan has a new take on the energy business by combining an energy drink with waffles. By combining the ingredients of an energy drink with the wired waffles you solve two problems at the same time. You get the boost of energy along with something to satisfy your hunger. But then don't you still need something to drink? As with all the food products featured on the Shark Tank, it all comes down to that first impression of how good these waffles tastes.

After Roger gave what seemed like the fastest presentation in the Shark Tanks History he proceeded to hand out Wired Waffles to all the Sharks. Their impression seemed unanimous and they all looked like they needed an energy drink to help get the waffles down before they could even talk. Robert Herjevic asks" can you put anything on it too make it taste better"? Sullivan responds "you can but they are designed with the flavor already inside of them". Each wired waffle is equivalent to drinking 3 cups of coffee which you might also need to get them down.
