Jerusalem allocates NIS 62 million for Ramat Shlomo infrastructure
Just last Tuesday, I reported that construction had been frozen in Ramat Shlomo, with budgets non-existent and existing residents unable to expand their homes. On Monday, the Jerusalem city council allocated NIS 62.4 million for infrastructure that will at least get new construction going in Ramat Shlomo. There is no word (in this article) on whether existing residents will finally be allowed

Joe Biden's revenge: Building suspended in Ramat Shlomo
Remember when Joe Biden went bezerk over Jewish building in Jerusalem's Ramat Shlomo neighborhood when he was here three years ago? The plans for part of that building were finally approved in December 2012 after a delay because of the whole Biden affair. The bulk of the 1,500 new apartments that had received a preliminary approval while Biden was here were never finally approved.

Abu Mazen about to back out of 'peace talks'?
On Tuesday, 'moderate' 'Palestinian' President Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen suddenly canceled a meeting with his Fatah faction that was to plan for the 'second round' of 'talks' with Israel on August 14, and flew off to Saudi Arabia to meet with King Abdullah bin Abdel
Aziz.
No reason was given for the cancellation of the meeting. And Abu Mazen may not meet with King Abdullah until Sunday, such
79% of Israeli Jews expect 'peace talks' to fail
Someone at the JPost needs to fix the headline (hopefully they will by the time you see this post). 79% of Israeli Jews don't believe the newest round of 'peace talks' will succeed. What a shock....

round of negotiations have a low chance of success of yielding a peace

Congress wants to sell US embassy building in Tel Aviv, move embassy to Jerusalem
A bipartisan group of representatives has introduced a bill to sell the US embassy's beachfront property in Tel Aviv, which has a market value of $100 million or more, and move the embassy to Jerusalem (Hat Tip: MFS - The Other News).

For those too young to remember, I discussed the shape of the table in the Paris peace talks that were supposed to end the Vietnam war here. When it comes to Israel and the 'Palestinians,' the shape of the table may be the only thing about which there has thus far been no argument.
