Two states for two peoples... on two sides of the Jordan
At a conference on Sunday about a two-state solution on the two banks of the Jordan River (Jews to the West, Arabs to the East), the results of a poll were released that indicated that 19% of Israeli Jews support the idea of Jordan being the 'Palestinian state.' But most Israeli Jews don't expect it to happen, and they support... the status quo.
Some 19 percent of Jewish Israelis prefer to
And you didn't think anyone was that blind anymore
On Sunday, Prime Minister Netanyahu found himself in the awkward position of having to explain to French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius that Israel's conflict with the 'Palestinians' is not the central conflict of the Middle East.
The root of the area’s instability, Netanyahu said in a public
statement made alongside Fabius before the two met in Jerusalem, is the regional
rejection of

And again: Israeli government minister declares 'two-state solution' dead
For the second time in three months, an Israeli government minister has officially declared the 'two-state solution' dead.
A two-state solution is an unrealistic resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian
conflict, Housing and Construction Minister Uri Ariel said on Sunday evening as
he helped dedicate two new neighborhoods of 160 homes in the West Bank
settlement of Kedumim.

Oh my: Netanyahu to give second Bar Ilan speech
You have to wonder what Obama has on him..... Or maybe it's just Yesh Atid and our Leftist parties....
Exclusive: Netanyahu is planning to give a "second Bar Ilan speech" in the second week in October. Coordinate began but not yet final

In case you need a reminder, the first Bar Ilan speech (video with simultaneous English translation) is here.

'Palestinian' journalists to stage sit-down strike to protest assaults by 'security forces'
The 'Palestinian Authority' is working on the democracy thing. They understand that deposed Egyptian President Mohammed Morsy is not a democrat. They understand think that the Americans will not be pleased with them if the 'Palestinians' come out en masse to support Morsy. They know that Hamas supports Morsy and therefore they must oppose him - my enemy's enemy is my friend. But they think that

Expert: An Israeli strike against Iran is 'on the calendar'
Here's Dr. Mike Evans, an expert on the Middle East and a personal friend of Binyamin Netanyahu, talking with Radio America about the likelihood of an Israeli strike on Iran, the unlikelihood of success of the talks between Israel and the 'Palestinians,' and revolution in Egypt.
Let's go to the videotape.
Note: For Israel to stop Iran, there are about 1,100 targets that must be taken out.

'Bloody Hell, what have the Jews ever done to us?'
A great column by Carol Hunt in Sunday's Irish Independent tries to figure out why Ireland is so down on Israel.
But see, I'm confused. If encouraging greater trade and academic ties
and "person to person" interaction is so great for forging human rights
dialogue, then why is Israel, seemingly alone of all countries in the
world, singled out for no-holds-barred censure and boycott?

79% of Israeli Jews expect 'peace talks' to fail
Someone at the JPost needs to fix the headline (hopefully they will by the time you see this post). 79% of Israeli Jews don't believe the newest round of 'peace talks' will succeed. What a shock....
The poll found that seventy-nine percent of Israeli Jews think the new
round of negotiations have a low chance of success of yielding a peace
agreement, while 18% believe they have a high chance

The 'phased plan' is alive and well
After the Yom Kippur War, the Arab states realized that there was no way they were going to be able to destroy Israel militarily in one fell swoop. Therefore, in 1974, the PLO adopted a new plan which is known as the 'Phased Plan.'
The plan in brief:
Through the "armed struggle" (i.e., terrorism),
to establish an "independent combatant national authority" over any
territory that is "

Obama threatened retaliation against Israeli action on Iran if Israel didn't release 'Palestinians'?
In an earlier post, I discussed (and cast doubt on) the claim that Israel traded 104 terrorist murderers for an American attack on Iran. But what if what happened was that Obama and Kerry told Netanyahu that if we didn't release the 104 terrorist murderers, and return to the table with the 'Palestinians,' when and if Israel bombed Iran, the US would leave us to face the consequences alone?

Abu Mazen's future apartheid 'state': Not one Jew in 'Palestine'
'Moderate' 'Palestinian' President Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen told reporters in Egypt on Monday that his vision for 'Palestine' does not include a single Jew.
Abbas said that no Israeli settlers or border forces could remain in a
future Palestinian state and that Palestinians deem illegal all Jewish
settlement building within the land occupied in the 1967 Six Days War.
...
"In a final
By the way, what shape is the table going to be?
For those too young to remember, I discussed the shape of the table in the Paris peace talks that were supposed to end the Vietnam war here. When it comes to Israel and the 'Palestinians,' the shape of the table may be the only thing about which there has thus far been no argument.
This time "all of the issues that are at the core of a permanent
accord will be negotiated simultaneously",

Flashback: Senior Fatah member: 'The greater goal cannot be accomplished in one go'
Here's senior Fatah member Abbas Zaki talking about the 'Palestinians' real goals. This video is from 2011.
Let's go to the videotape (Hat Tip: Varda N).
