Contestant Gets Sued By Shark

 Mr. Lube Sues Ms. Lube

Shark Gets Revenge After Trademark Infringement on Show
Mr Lube sues Ms Lube
I ran across an episode from Season 4 of the Dragons Den that is a classic example of what Not To Do when it comes to negotiating a deal with a Dragon or any Shark from the Shark Tank Show for that matter. The contestant just started an Auto Mechanic Shop Ms. Lube, a new auto repair shop that is run by an all female crew under the Mechanchik name. Hm, personally I like the Mechanchik name better then Ms Lube which does not limit your customer's perception on the services you provide while still conveying the same message, but any way,...

Jessica Gilbert entered the Dragons Den proud of her brand new All Female Auto Repair Center she named Ms. Lube. Immediately the Sharks notice a striking similarity between Jessica's business name and the Mr. Lube Brand that happens to be owned by non other then Jim Treliving, the Shark Investor sitting next to Kevin O'Leary. Without batting an eye Kevin asks "are you going to sue these people right away"? Jim looking completely stunned and visually upset at what he was looking at, immediately replies "Right Away". Read More Here-->>>

Element Bars

Element Bars on Shark Tank - Update

Custom Energy Bars - Season 1 - Episode 6

Custom Energy Bars on Shark Tank
Jonathon Miller on Shark Tank Show
The Element Bars are custom energy bar's that you design yourself online and have them sent your door. If your not into experimenting, the element bars also offer several pre-made energy bars that have already proven to be very successful in the market.

If I could choose one former Shark Tank contestant to take with me and help with negotiations, Jonathon Miller would be high up on that list. In fact, during the show, Barbara Corcoran calls Jonathon a mini Shark for his negotiation skills. He went in asking $150k for 15% stake in his custom energy bar business valuating it at a whopping $2.25 million. The business was averaging 1000 custom energy bars per week at that time. The custom bars retail for $2.99 so approx. $12k/Month in sales. Obviously this valuation could be considered way out of line on the surface BUT Read More Here-->>>

Grease Monkey Wipes

Featured Follow Up Success Story on the Shark Tank Show

Tim Stansbury and Erin Walen gets a deal with the sharks

Grease Monkey Wipes Makes Successful
Deal on the Shark Tank Show
Tim Stansbury & Erin Whalen came into the Shark Tank looking for 40k for a 40% stake in the Grease Monkey Wipes Business. Erin explains that during one of their 100 mile bike rides together she ended up getting a flat tire. By the time Whalen was done, Her hands were covered in grease. As they continued their bike ride they started brain storming of a new portable cleaning product that could easily and conveniently take away grease and dirt while on the go. After a lot of trial and error the pair came up with the perfect product and went into business together. Within a few months Grease Monkey Wipes was featured on the Shark Tank Show.

The couple came in  prepared with a reasonable valuation for their new invention and seemed determined to make a deal with the Sharks.
